Sophie Currin
Sophie Currin oversees EmPower Initiatives at EcoFlow, whose aim is to empower people and communities, like those in Puerto Rico, through access to clean, portable, reliable power for lasting impact. Based in San Francisco, she has been deeply involved in a number of nonprofits, including Reading Partners, YCore, and the Housing Rights Committee of San Francisco.
Having worked with several education-focused nonprofits in the past, Sophie is especially excited for Energise Puerto Rico’s efforts to reach schools and families in Puerto Rico so that children and teenagers can move closer to a sense of normalcy, and can possess the tools necessary to excel in school. She believes school should be a supportive community for all students to make friends and explore exciting intellectual—not logistical—challenges.
Sophie is a graduate of Amherst College with a B.A. in Economics and English.
